CNC and machine runtime
The usual request is hours, idle time, and a run contact — enough for maintenance planning. We do not quote a full CNC OEM protocol unless the buyer already has a documented interface they are allowed to use.
What we collect first
How the machine already signals run: a dry contact, a lamp circuit that can be isolated, or a register on a PLC that sits next to the CNC.
Whether the value must enter an existing MES, SCADA or historian, and over which protocol. A new hosted operator view is not assumed.
Send with the request
- Machine type and count
- What you already have: contact, PLC, or only a wish list
- Plant Ethernet availability at the cabinet
- Who owns the existing data system
Questions buyers actually ask
Do you need access to the CNC maker’s proprietary bus?
Not as a default. Many jobs start from run contacts, cycle counters or a documented PLC interface. Proprietary CNC protocols are only quoted after the buyer names the interface they are allowed to use.
